Curtains make a house a home! There are many different styles of headings and finishes which go towards creating the finished look. It is important to make sure that the style compliments the room and works with the size and shape of the window. The rails, or poles are also an important part of the look and I work with Silentgliss and Houles which have a lovely selection of lovely quality products.
For areas that require a more minimalist look, a blind is very often a lovely solution. I work with a company called Luxaflex who create lovely honeycombe style blinds which fit inside the window frame, therefore avoiding problems with door handles and move with any opening windows. Roman Blinds are also a neat way to dress a window, and use far less fabric than a curtain.
Cushions are a lovely way to bring the curtain colour/style into the room. They can be plain, piped, zipped or by adding fancy braiding they can really make a statement.
Haute Savoie is famous for Apartments and Chalets with triangular (trapezoid) shaped windows, and it can be really difficult to find a solution without losing the amazing views that we are so lucky to have here. Again, I work with Luxaflex blinds, but can also source rails that have a brake system, so that curtains stay open rather than falling back down. Choosing the right design can really make a feature.
Upholstery can change the whole look of a chair, seat, bench or stool. I have also had some amazingly unique projects such as a sheeps head, and a rocking horse – so I love a challenge!
